The Raoul Wallenberg Institute with its collaboration partner the Association of Foreign Affairs (UPF) are proud to announce an evening with Swedish UN-Ambassador Olof Skoog. Mr Skoog will give a presentation on “Sweden in the Security Council – does it matter?” for 45 minutes which will be followed by a 30 min Q&A.

About Olof Skoog
Being a Lund University alumni, Ambassador Olof Skoog is a Swedish diplomat with extensive experience of both multilateral negotiations focusing on peace and security.
He has been Swedish Ambassador to several countries in South America, e.g. Colombia and Venezuela, and Asia, e.g. Indonesia and ASEAN, as well as to international institutions such as the UN, the EU and the OSCE. He also notably served as executive assistant to Dr. Hans Blix as part of the UN efforts aimed at verifying WMD programmes in Iraq, and was appointed by the EU High Representative to serve as the first Permanent Chair of the EU Political and Security Committee (PSC) in 2010.
In 2015, Ambassador Skoog was appointed as Sweden’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York.
