This guest lecture is a unique opportunity to discuss the current human rights situation in Afghanistan, as well as the opportunities and challenges ahead. This includes what Lund University and its faculties as well as students may be able to do in response, together with the UN Special Rapporteur on Afghanistan, Richard Bennett, and Daria Davitti, Associate Professor at Lund University Faculty of Law.

With whom

RICHARD BENNETT
Richard is a visiting professor at Raoul Wallenberg Institute and the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Afghanistan. He has extensive experience of Afghanistan, including with the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission and the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), starting in 2003.

DARIA DAVITTI
Daria is Associate Professor in Public International Law at the Faculty of Law, Lund University. She has worked as a human rights field officer with the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan from 2006 to 2009.
