Myanmar National Human Rights Commissioner visits Lund

As part of a Regional Capacity Development Programme in Asia, RWI offers a human rights training fellowship to Commissioners and staff of National Human Rights Institutions in South and Southeast Asia (please refer to the advertisment, previously posted on this site). This year’s Fellowship was awarded to Dr. Nyan Zaw, a Commissioner from the recently established Myanmar National Human Rights Commission. For a three month period, between September and December 2012, Dr. Zaw will receive training on human rights with a special focus on health and human rights, as well as support in developing training curricula which can be used when he returns back home to his Commission. Dr. Zaw will also form part of the dynamic research environment at RWI, sharing his knowledge and experiences and contributing to the Human Rights Masters Programme at the Law Faculty of Lund University.
