Thematic discussion on the topic of “Human rights, ethics: The impact of hate speech and misinformation” was held at the National Assembly of Armenia
A thematic discussion on the topic of “Human rights, ethics: The impact of hate speech and misinformation” was held on March 7, 2024, at the National Assembly of Armenia. The discussion was held in cooperation with the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI) organized by the UNDP in Armenia “Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia” project, chaired by the Deputy Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs. The participants talked about the topics related to the rules of parliamentary ethics and conduct, the regulation of hate speech in the legislation of Armenia, and the necessity of applying a directed and balanced approach when regulating hate speech. Morten Kjaerum from RWI was one of the speakers presenting the topic from the international perspective.
