Call for applications: “Human Rights and Gender Equality in Climate and Disaster Displacement”

Deadline 17 June – Call for Applications – Public Sector Innovation Programme on Human Rights and Gender Equality in Climate and Disaster Displacement. Raoul Wallenberg Institute in partnership with Lund University is reaching out to municipal-level public sector professionals working in cities in Sierra Leone, Ethiopia and Uganda. Although priority will be given to qualified applicants from these countries, qualified applicants from other countries in Africa are also encouraged to apply. See the factsheet here.

This capacity building programme is designed to contribute directly to the Global Mayors Action Agenda on Climate and Migration. This will be done by strengthening the capacity of municipal authorities in multiple cities in Africa, with a priority focus on Freetown, Addis Ababa and Kampala to integrate human rights and gender equality principles into the design and implementation of measures relating to the prevention of and preparedness for displacement, protection of people during displacement, and facilitation of durable solutions to displacement in the context of disasters and climate change.
