Call for Applications: Regional Human Rights Research Initiative 2018

RWI is now announcing this year’s regional human rights research initiative in Asia. This year it is open to academics (both researchers and lecturers/professors) affiliated with academic institutions in countries eligible for international development cooperation in Asia and the Pacific.

The regional initiative, which RWI have organised since 2014, aims to support human rights research around Asia. The initiative has seen the joint effort between different RWI programmes in Asia.

About the Research Initiative

Research topics should relate to human rights and the environment, climate change and the Agenda 2030, further described in the call for applications. Topics with a regional scope, including regional or inter-state cooperation or challenges within Asia, will be prioritised.

Successful applicants will be expected to carry out original research and produce a paper in English that can be presented at national, regional and/or international conferences. To facilitate the research process and the writing of final research papers, successful applicants will be invited to join a series of events throughout the year. Details about admissibility criteria and the process are available in the call for application from the programme below.

Targeted scope: South and Southeast Asia, China, the Pacific and Oceania, with the exception of countries not eligible for development cooperation.
