The Raoul Wallenberg Institute’s Senior Researcher, Radu Mares, has been awarded an honorary professorship at Wuhan University Faculty of Law.
“It’s a great honour to be awarded a professorship from a prestigious faculty of law with which the Institute has colaborated for a number of years in the areas of disability rights and business and human rights,” Mares said.
The professorship is another step to further develop the partnership between the Institute and Wuhan University, where Mares recently gave a presentation titled ‘Towards Corporate Accountability – Responsibility and Remedies’
“The strength of the Wuhan faculty of law in international economic law presents a great opportunity to advance issues about human rights in the global economy, an area which the Institute has been working on for many years,” he says.
The increased cooperation will allow for further discussion on the implementation of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), including environmental protection within China and Chinese investment overseas.
Economic Globalisation and Human Rights is now one of the four thematic focus areas of the Institute.
