The initial workshop within the Expert Accreditation Programme, implemented by RWI and the African Secretariat for National Human Rights Institutions (NANHRI) is being organised in Nairobi, Kenya, 11-13 November 2013. The workshop is focusing on training and capacity development techniques in relation to certain key thematic human rights areas of priority to African NHRIs. Ten NHRI staff members have been carefully selected to take part in the Programme in which they will enhance their knowledge and skills of human rights training, education and research methodology. By the end of the Expert Accreditation Programme, those candidates that have been accredited will form a pool of experts that can provide in-house training within their own institutions as well as an African resource base for future training activities in the region.
