7-8 November 2013 in Naivasha, Kenya, the Raoul Wallenberg Institute in cooperation with Africa Youth Trust (AYT) is convening a regional forum for the East African Community (EAC) Women, Peace and Security Network, comprising representatives of government ministries and CSOs implementing UNSCR 1325 within the EAC member states. The establishment and further strengthening of the network forms part of efforts of the Institute and AYT for improved coordination at regional EAC level between actors with a role in the implementation of UNSCR 1325 on women, peace and security. The objectives of the regional forum are to formalise the network at the regional level and consolidate the way forward for the network.
