4-6 November 2013 in Naivasha, Kenya, a regional capacity building forum is organised with the objective of enhancing capacity of the East African Women, Peace and Security Network established under a cooperation project between the Institute and the Kenyan CSO Africa Youth Trust. The establishment and strengthening of the network forms part of efforts for improved coordination at regional EAC level between actors with a role in the implementation of UNSCR 1325 on women, peace and security.
The regional capacity building forum covers areas such as policy advocacy and lobbying techniques, and creating and sustaining networks. Participants at the forum represent the mentioned network and each of its country chapters in Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.
