On 20 May 2025, the Raoul Wallenberg Institute (RWI) hosted a delegation from Thailand led by Dr. Seree Nonthasoot, an esteemed human rights advocate. The visit was part of a broader study tour organized by the Institute of Research and Development for Public Enterprises (IRDP), under Thailand’s Ministry of Finance, focused on public-private partnerships (PPP) and human rights-based governance.
The delegation, which includes senior executives from government agencies and state enterprises enrolled in IRDP’s Public Executive Program (PEP), Class 19, came to Lund to learn from the city’s experience as a Human Rights City and to explore Lund’s approaches to inclusive governance, community engagement, and PPP projects.
RWI Director Peter Lundberg warmly welcomed the delegation. The meeting also included presentations on RWI’s growing presence in Asia Pacific, particularly the development of RWI’s Regional Asia Pacific Office in Bangkok, which builds upon RWI’s ongoing programmes in Indonesia and Cambodia.
The Regional Office will allow for more meaningful cooperation with partners based in Thailand but also further RWI’s regional strategies for collaboration and capacity building, advancing human rights and gender equality through context-specific, locally driven initiatives.
