The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI) is accepting applications for short-term research scholarships connected to human rights and humanitarian law issues. The deadline for submission of applications is October 1, 2018.
General information:
RWI provides short-term research scholarships for Turkish researchers who would like to conduct their research at universities or research institutions outside of Turkey.
Scholarships will be provided for a one to six-month period between December 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019.
Scholarships will cover living expenses up to EUR 1,750 per month (the amount will be calculated according to living expenses in the host country). Scholarship holders will receive a one-time travel allowance up to EUR 500 including return ticket, visa application and travel insurance fee/expenses.
Eligibility requirements:
The short-term research scholarship application is open to Turkish citizens who are staff members of a university in Turkey including:
- Graduate students
- Academic staff holding Ph.D degrees, within the last 10 years
All applications with connections to human rights and humanitarian law issues are welcome. Applicants whose proposed research projects are related to the rights of the elderly, children, women, refugees, persons with disabilities, as well as the relationship between human rights and information and communication strategies (ICTs) and human rights cities will be given preference. Scholars from all disciplines are encouraged to apply. Applicants who adopt an interdisciplinary approach in their works will be given preference.
