It is with great sadness that we inform that our former colleague, friend and long-standing librarian Habteab Tesfay passed away on Saturday 4 March.
Habteab was born in Eritrea and came to Sweden in the beginning of the 1970s. He first studied Library and Information Science in Borås, Sweden, and thereafter worked at various libraries within Lund University. He came to the Raoul Wallenberg Institute in the beginning of the 1990s and remained with us until his retirement in 2009.
Habteab was a highly valued staff member of RWI. He was a dedicated employee and a very diligent librarian. During Habteab’s time as librarian at RWI, the library collection developed substantially and, in his care, we would always know that the library would be maintained at the highest standard.
We will always remember Habteab as a devoted, very friendly and fun colleague and friend.
Our thoughts are with Habteab’s family at this difficult time.
