In the present report, prepared pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 57/3, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Afghanistan provides a general overview of the situation of human rights in Afghanistan, with a specific focus on women and girls, civic space and minorities. The report mainly covers the period between 1 August and 31 December 2024 and builds on previous reports submitted to the Council and the General Assembly. The Special Rapporteur has also prepared a separate study, in accordance with resolution 57/3, on the law on the promotion of virtue and the prevention of vice.
