Book Launch: The Child in International Refugee Law

Children are the victims of some of the most devastating examples of state-sanctioned and private human rights abuses.

In increasing numbers, they are trying to find international protection and are forced to navigate complex administrative and legal processes that fail to take their distinct needs and vulnerabilities into account.

The Raoul Wallenberg Institute and the Child Rights Institute at Lund University are hosting a seminar on 13 October with Dr Jason Pobjoy based on his new book ”The Child in International Refugee Law”.

Drawing on analysis of case-law involving child refugees, Pobjoy considers the extent to which the challenges presented above may be overcome by greater engagement between international refugee law and international law on the rights of a child.

The discussant for the seminar will be:

Thomas Gammeltoft Hansen, Research Director at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute.

Titti Mattsson, Professor of Public Law, Faculty of Law, Lund University

Location: The auditorium in the University Main Building (Room 206)

Date and time: 13 October, 14:00 to 16:00
