“Global Urban Justice: The Rise of Human Rights Cities,” published by Cambridge University Press, is the first book-length scholarly treatment of the movement.
The Raoul Wallenberg Institute hosted a book launch and discussion on 13 June, 2016 on the growing Human Rights Cities Movement.
The panel brings together academics and practitioners at the forefront of human rights cities to critically discuss the history and potential that human rights cities hold for global urban justice.
“Through the Human Rights Cities movement, local governments are taking increasing responsibility for implementing human rights norms,” says Martha F. Davis, Visiting Fulbright Chair, Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. “The panelists will discuss the challenges and opportunities posed by the rise of local human rights leadership.”
