Kristin Dadey from the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), recently visited the Institute’s office in Cambodia for a “Human Rights Lunch” with eight female scholarship holders.
During the informal session, Dadey discussed the link between human rights and migration. A short IOM produced film, “Trafficked to Sea film on youtube,” about IOM Cambodia’s Repatriation Program was shown during the lunch. The film generated interesting discussions among the students and Dadey.
The “Human Rights Lunch” is an initiative within RWI’s Cambodia programme. On an annual basis, RWI provides scholarships to eight female students from disadvantages backgrounds to study law at the English Language-Based Bachelor of Law (ELBBL) at the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE). The scholarships are combined with monthly sessions on human rights at RWI’s office during lunch time.
