The main objective of this course was to enhance the capacities of human rights librarians and resource centre personnel working at Academic Institutions and NHRIs in Southeast Asia in providing effective and efficient information services to their users using modern library tools. Through the improved capacities of these librarians and resource centre personnel, the aim was also, in the longer run, to enhance access to human rights resources, research and documentation in general in the Southeast Asia region. Countries represented in the training course include Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and East Timor. The main international expert facilitating the course was Ms Lena Olsson, Senior Advisor in Library and Information Resource Management and former librarian and Head of the Library and Publications Unit at the Institute in Lund, Sweden.
