The students at the International Human Rights Law program graduated this week after two years studies in Human Rights Law in Lund. Half of the students come from Sweden, but the other half are from countries like China, Bangladesh, Mexico, Italy, UK and Iceland.
Among the graduates is Daniel Davidsen from the UK and Sonay Jalili. In a few weeks they start their respective new careers.
– I have got a six month apprenticeship at the International Criminal Court in the Hague, says Daniel Davidsen, who is also considering taking a PhD in Human Rights Law in due time.
– I might be back in Lund after my time in the Hague, who knows? I enjoy Lund, the closeness to Copenhagen and the many parties that always are on offer for students.
Sonay Jalili is leaving Lund for Stockholm. A job as programme support officer at the Red Cross is awaiting her, and her biggest worry is to find somewhere to live.
– It will be very interesting, she says. In the beginning I guess I have to do all sorts of tasks, but I hope to be able to do some interesting human rights work after a while.
