We have had a presence in Lund, Sween since our founding in 1984 where we have been affiliated with Lund University, one of the world’s top 100 rated universities.
The Institute offered courses for law students throughout the 1980s and up until the present. The human rights library was established in 1984. It’s now one of the biggest in Northern Europé.
Since the 1980s, in cooperation with the Faculty of Law at Lund University, the Institute has encouraged and supported research by PhD candidates. In 1991, the Institute took the initiative to launch a Master’s Programme in International Human Rights Law together with the Law Faculty. The Institute begins its international programmes to work with direct human rights engagement in 1990 with support from Swedish development cooperation.
