Utama is an experienced senior manager and international development expert with over 15 years of experiences in the areas of democracy, local governance, gender equality and empowerment, human capacity development, civil society engagement and public policy. He has extensive conceptual and practical experiences in working on the areas of local governance, policy advocacy and civil society empowerment through program implementation and partnership management.
Utama holds a PhD in Organizational Psychology and his recent work focuses on private sector engagement and multi-stakeholder partnership achieving SDGs and village’s socio-economic development. Prior to working on SDGs theme, Utama was a program lead for Knowledge Sector Initiative (KSI) a DFAT funded-project to promote the development of knowledge sector and the use of evidence-informed policy in Indonesian government’s development program.
In addition, Utama has long experiences in managing good governance program portfolio with focus areas on democracy development, electoral support, women’s political empowerment, and civil society engagement.
Utama has collaborated with various donor agencies and has had managed donor-funded programs from DFAT, USAID, the Embassy of the Royal Kingdom of Netherlands, UNDP Indonesia, EU, DANIDA, SIDA, and Open Society Foundation.
