Ruth Panjaitan serves as a Program Officer at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute Jakarta Office, focusing on Access to Environmental Justice and Business and Human Rights in the Asia Pacific. Previously, she was a Legal Adviser at the International Commission of Jurists, managing the Access to Justice for Women project in Indonesia.
Ruth has over a decade of experience in international human rights law with extensive experience collaborating with legislative and judicial officials in Southeast Asia to promote human rights and the rule of law. She has worked in thematic areas such as women’s rights, legal aid, counterterrorism, penal code, and business and human rights.
Ruth graduated cum laude from Universitas Pelita Harapan Indonesia in 2011 and was awarded student exchange scholarship to La Trobe University Australia in 2009. Outside of her work, she enjoys singing and playing classical piano.
