Rebecca Thorburn Stern (LL D) is Professor of Public International Law at Uppsala University, Sweden. She earned her doctoral degree in public international law in 2006, also at Uppsala University. Her main research interests include human rights with a particular focus on children’s rights, migration law, and the relationship between international and national law. She has published widely in these fields.
Previous positions include Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Uppsala University, Senior Lecturer at RWI, Researcher and Project Manager at the Swedish Red Cross, lawyer at the Swedish Refugee Advice Centre and Presenting Officer at the Aliens Appeals Board. Rebecca Thorburn Stern is co-founder and member of the steering committee of the Göteborg Lund/Uppsala Migration Law Network (GL/UMIN). She is a member of the board of the RWI since 2017.
