Strengthen Capacities of Doctoral Candidates

The Raoul Wallenberg Institute´s Harare Office, in collaboration with academic partner institutions, hosted the Human Rights Research Academy for Doctoral Candidates from 24-28 July 2023. The Research Academy brings together 15 researchers pursuing doctoral studies, from the five academic partners, (Great Zimbabwe University, University of Zimbabwe ACCA, Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University(ZEGU), Midlands State University, and Africa University). The Women’s University in Africa is also participating in the Research Academy.
 
The Research Academy aims to strengthen capacities of the doctoral candidates at the participating academic institutions to plan, design and develop research in support of the practical application of human rights, for example through law reform, policy making and decision making. Alejandro Fuentes (RWI Senior Researcher), together with 4 more senior researchers drawn from the academic partners in Zimbabwe are facilitating sessions at the workshop.
