Cities are playing a central role in the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The latest report by the Raoul Wallenberg Institute focuses on the interlinkages between the SDGs and human rights, and the specific ways human rights cities can implement the SDGs to further the rights of urban residents.
While cities are often the focal point of policy implementation and inclusive societies, they are also home to large socio-economic disparities and extreme poverty. This paper suggests by localizing the human rights and linking them to the SGDs, administrations can have a more direct, participatory connection with their residents and more effectively implement positive changes.
