Develop Human Rights Research-Related Capacities

The Raoul Wallenberg Institute-Harare Office, in collaboration with its academic partners, will be facilitating a Winter School on Human Rights. The Winter School takes place from 3-14 July 2023 at the Midlands State University in Gweru and the University of Zimbabwe in Harare. A total of 24 Law students (14 female and 10 male) will be participating in the Winter School. They are drawn from the Midlands State University, Great Zimbabwe University, University of Zimbabwe, Africa University, Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University and the Lund University in Sweden.

The overall aim of this activity is to further develop the human rights research-related capacities of university students. Focusing on strengthening their abilities to understand how human rights standards, principles and values are implemented in practice. Working with concrete cases.

The Winter School falls under the Zimbabwe Human Rights Capacity Development Programme 2019-2023. The programme is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.
