The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI) extends its deepest condolences on the untimely passing of Her Excellency Ms. Katrin Hagemann, Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Zimbabwe.
During her tenure in Harare, Ambassador Hagemann made a significant contribution to the work of the European Union and to its engagement with Zimbabwe. She will be remembered for her openness and inclusive approach, and for her willingness to engage with people and institutions from across society in the pursuit of sustainable development, human rights, and constructive dialogue.
Her passing is a profound loss to her family, colleagues at the Delegation of the European Union in Harare, and the wider diplomatic and development community with whom she worked.
Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with her family, loved ones, colleagues and all those who mourn her passing at this difficult time.
